Principle of action:

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is the 1 amino polycarboxylic acid, can effectively chelate calcium ions in the blood, chelate calcium will be removed from the reaction point to prevent and terminate the endogenous or exogenous coagulation process, thereby preventing blood coagulation, compared with other anticoagulants, its effect on the agglutination of blood cells and the morphology of blood cells is small.

Clinical application

Whole blood collection vessels are mainly used for the examination of hematology or immunohematology items in clinical experiments, such as blood routine, blood type identification, cross matching blood and other items, and cannot be used for blood coagulation, trace elements and PCR examination.
