Agarwood and Fragrance
A friend asked me what "fragrant processing" means.
We know that wild agarwood comes from the earth,
so it will have agarwood residue, soil, dried ferns, sand, insects, etc. attached to it.
To prevent these from entering the incense burner or teaware during incense burning, brewing, or display,
it is necessary to clean and inspect it!
Only proceed after confirming everything is in order.

Today's protagonist is Nha Trang Liangyun agarwood from Vietnam. The tools include an electric handheld... Tools: scissors, blade, toothbrush... The small blue bottle on the front right is
for storing the agarwood fragments after processing.

The front side clearly shows the resin, but turning it to the back reveals some agarwood bark, rotten wood, and dust... etc.
The bark and rotten wood will give off a dry, woody smell when burned, while the dust, though odorless, is unpleasant to the eye...
Sometimes when sharing agarwood with fellow enthusiasts, it smells wonderful, but encountering these... ruins the enjoyment. (

Handmade) Now, let's get started... ginger! Just grind off the top layer, leaving only the best flavor...
but you might also grind up the oily areas, so some sacrifice is necessary.
For those without hand tools, you can buy fine sandpaper to grind it.![]()

All done!!! This way, you don't have to worry about impurities affecting the flavor, and you can be more at ease when brewing drinks.

This time, I'm setting it for incense, so I cut it into small pieces for easy diffuser use.

The incense setting is 90 degrees (...). (Reference value) For
those with a sensitive nasal root, the value can be lowered; for those with a less sensitive nasal root, it can be gradually increased.

Incense burning with charcoal will produce a wonderful aroma.
The photo was taken at 3:00 PM; it's currently 6:35 PM and the aroma is still pleasant.

The prepared agarwood is placed in a jar for future use.

The beautiful fragrance permeates the nasal root, leaving the mind refreshed and the mouth moist.
It seems to replenish energy, making one feel energetic and refreshed.
Sleep is also more restful and deep.
