How to maintain and enhance the fragrance of agarwood and sandalwood prayer beads?

1. A member asked me: How should we maintain the agarwood and sandalwood prayer beads we purchased from Shouxintang?
Shouxintang agarwood beads are made from Jarapula and Tarakan agarwood that has been mineralized for over 750 years. Therefore, the beads inherently contain a large amount of agarwood oil
(as mentioned in a previous article on why you should buy Shouxintang agarwood and sandalwood beads). There's no need to apply any additional agarwood oil for maintenance. Moreover, many commercially available agarwood oils are diluted (with added beeswax). (Mixed with other oils). Applying fake oil to the beads will have the opposite effect. The best method
is to use a clean cloth or cotton glove to rub the surface of each agarwood bead. This will restore the beads' luster. Do not use the cloth or glove to wipe other items! Remember this!
You can smell it; the cloth or glove will have the fragrance of agarwood. Using the original agarwood powder from the beads for maintenance is the best method, and the same method applies to sandalwood beads!
2. How can I enhance the fragrance of my
agarwood and sandalwood beads? After wearing them for a period of time, the effects of sweat, changes in air quality, living environment, and human use will vary. Some people's beads will become particularly lustrous and retain their fragrance, while others will not. However, as long as the beads are of good quality, these external factors are not a problem! In addition to the methods mentioned above, the store also offers powdered agarwood beads for purchase and use!
How to use it?
Simply place the agarwood beads in the evening or when you are not wearing them. Simply place the Shouxintang agarwood bead powder inside an unscented wooden box. The beads will absorb the fragrance of the agarwood powder, removing impurities and restoring their original fresh and fragrant aroma.
Some agarwood beads have been worn for years without maintenance, resulting in a strong sweat odor that makes it difficult to regain their original fragrance. If the sweat penetration is not deep, lightly polishing with fine sandpaper might restore the scent.
However, this is not recommended for beads that have already lost their weight, as it may cause them to lose their weight.
