Shenyou's homemade sleeping incense
Today, a fellow agarwood enthusiast specially presented me with a collection of handmade incense sticks, which he had been working on for several months, for my appreciation and enjoyment.
The collection includes various types of agarwood, such as Kalimantan red soil agarwood, Kalimantan shell agarwood + red soil agarwood, Nha Trang shell agarwood, Nha Trang needle agarwood, Tarakan agarwood, Nha Trang + Phu Quoc red soil agarwood, and Phu Quoc red soil agarwood + Qi Rou agarwood.
The collection includes various types of agarwood, such as Kalimantan red soil agarwood, Kalimantan shell agarwood + red soil agarwood, Nha Trang shell agarwood, Nha Trang needle agarwood, Tarakan agarwood, Nha Trang + Phu Quoc red soil agarwood, and Phu Quoc red soil agarwood + Qi Rou agarwood.
1. Pure single-origin wood. The aroma, fragrance, and transitions are elegant, with distinct layers.
Each stick of incense uses different agarwood, with clear and distinct aromas from different regions, without interference or mixing. …
2. Balancing experimentation and practicality.
The agarwood used for making the incense sticks includes water-sinking agarwood, water-floating agarwood, old agarwood, and general board agarwood. The proportion of binder powder varies for each type, and the high oil content makes it easy to extinguish the flame… etc., all of which the enthusiast has overcome.
A friend also collected some agarwood that had lost much of its aroma from an electric incense burner and ground it into incense for sleeping, with results exceeding expectations.
3. Unlike the market, distinguishing genuine from fake.
Every shop and seller claims their incense is excellent and natural; this includes myself, of course.
Making it myself not only allows me to smell the original fragrance but also ensures a safe and healthy experience. It also helps me understand the variations in aroma depending on the region of origin, enabling me to better judge the quality of incense in the future.
